Those poor babies

The local prison systems are limited by how much they can expropriate local taxpayers. It’s sort of amazing how blatant the theft is. Note the mentality: these people believe that taxpayers’ incomes really belong to government, and there is no limit to how little they let us keep. Well, here, there is a small tax tax cap limit, and they want us to feel sorry for them.

In any case, as usual, we see a bureaucrat’s only tool: more tax money. The reality: public schools are a nightmare where students learn to be good little drones rather than intelligent, freely thinking people. (When was the last time a student learned formal logic?) This is, of course, what the politicians want, so in their eyes, it’s a big success

Don't like taxes? Then we should raise taxes!

Amazing: a recent opinion has an interesting headline that convinced me to read it. But, this article does not decry a corrupt, overly-powerful, expansive government. Instead, it is another silly call for an income tax to "alleviate" the burden of property tax payers. The writer of course mentions that it is possible to reduce taxation by reducing government "services," but that is not entertained as a possibility. Nobody would ever dream of such a thing because the result would be total devastation. The earth would spin off its axis and spiral into the sun.

Instead, the writer wants to spread the burden around. Of course, in no way would property taxes be reduced if a new tax is added. That does not happen in political economy. All that would happen is that more people would suffer, and the current people who suffer will do so more strongly.

The appropriate goal for taxation: cut, cut, cut.
