So sad. And pathetic. Portsmouth PD is wasting taxpayer
money to hunt down rogue Uber drivers. The interim police chief claims that
they are not targeting Uber. Of course, there would be no “sting operation” if
there were no Uber and no agitating by the taxi mafia there. He goes on to say
that they are simply enforcing the law equally. How robotic—hiding behind
the “it’s the law” claim leads logically to the belief that legal statutes
determine morality. If the law said to chop off the hands of Uber drivers--excuse
me, transportation services providers--would they do it?
Who is the victim in these crimes? Nobody. Quit with the lies that this is about safety. This is about monopoly privileges for existing taxi companies to maintain a barrier to entry for competitors.
