Current NH taxes are "small potatoes"

This is a pretty arrogant article about taxation in New Hampshire. The state expropriates billions of dollars in taxes, from hapless taxpayers in the state and outside it, but according to this opinion piece, it's just small potatoes. Tell that to the people who are just barely getting by on their take-home pay.

The income tax is evil. It gives the State access to every aspect of our lives. It operates under the assumption that government owns 100% of our income and allows us to keep whatever portion it deems appropriate. It penalizes working, it discourages money earnings as opposed to direct barter, and it discourages saving.

No, the NH government should drastically slash taxes and its spending. Let people keep what they earn and spend it how they wish. Calling taxation "revenue" is misleading. It gives the impression that government is just a business. Not so. Taxation is coercive, and taxpayers are victims, not willing consumers.
