This is disturbing. Former police chief Richard Kane (what's his pension) is making a pretty penny and enriching the fear mongers by continuing the transformation of Exeter public schools into public prisons. His mentality is that at any moment, some mass catastrophe will occur.
This is nonsense.
Bad things happen. Governments erroneously ratchet up their spending, surveilling, and policing every time something bad happens. We leave in an increasingly totalitarian state. Of course, when bad things don't happen that used as an excuse to ratchet up also because what their doing is "working."
Shame on Kane for instilling fear into children, and shame on the schools to allow it.
