Par for the course: screw the taxpayer

Well, it looks like the Exeter government will continue to squeeze the taxpayer by not expanding the property tax exemption.

There is an argument that increased exemptions shift the burden of taxation to the younger population. This is completely wrong. An elderly person would simply be keeping his own money. The people who place the burden of taxation are those who collect the taxes. To say that some old person is somehow increasing a young person's taxes is shockingly misguided.

You can easily reduce the burden of taxation by cutting government spending. This is the only way. It's unfortunate to see all of those who support the continuing expropriation of private property and who ignore the underlying issue.
